Channing Tatum On-Board To Play X-Men’s Gambit

Well this is one bit of News i certainly didn’t see coming but then again ain’t surprised to learn learn of it- X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner wants to put out a solo Gambit movie and she has gotten Channing Tatum to sign-on for the movie project.

The last time we saw the card-throwing Gambit on the big screen was when Taylor Kitsch played the mutant from Louisiana in the 2009 movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where he had some few mins to show what he could do.

Channing Tatum who has long been a fan of the Marvel character would certainly be happy  he’s being considered for a Gambit movie as the actor recently expressed his interest to play the role during a White House Down press conference where he had this say – “I would like to play Gambit. Gambit’s my favourite. I’m from New Orleans, around that area. My dad’s from New Orleans, and I like to do a Cajun accent. I could do it for real.”

According to Empire, Donner’s plan to work on the solo x-Men project was revealed in a recent issue of Empire magazine where she mentioned that she really wants to work on the movie and only has the studio to contend with – “I’m dying to do a Gambit movie with Channing Tatum. That doesn’t have to be a great big movie. It’s a thief in New Orleans, it’s a whole different story. He’s on board, and I have to get the studio on board. How can anyone resist Channing? He’s such a sweetheart.

Now that the producer is on-board, and an actor has been gotten for the role let’s wait and find out what the studio thinks of this.
